MOSLEY DOMINATES TAYLOR

LAS VEGAS, NV (InsideBoxing) - Shane Mosley did not take long to show Shannan Taylor, his trainers and the world that he (Mosley) is the "supreme ruler" in the welterweight division.

From the onset, Mosely displayed his pugilist talent with dazzling speed and combinations.  And toward the end of the round he would prove that speed can indeed create power.  A right hand to head would knock Taylor senseless and to the canvas.  In a mean tone, Taylor would yell at his cornermen "He did'nt knock me down!".  I guess this adds value to the saying "He never knew what hit him."  Now Taylor would have to start the second round.

A tough Taylor would not succumb to the onslaught of punches distributed by Mosley in rounds two through 5.  With seconds remaining in the fifth round Mosley would connect with a shot to the liver which bucked and left Taylor helpless and defenseless.  The referee would jump in front of Taylor with intent to stop the contest but the bell would ring before the referee had a chance to wave off the fight.  Taylor's corner new enough was enough and ended the contest.  Mosley improves to 37-0 with 34 knockouts and Taylor falls to 28-1-1.

Many believe Mosley is the best "pound for Pound" fight today.  And with every fight Mosley continues to prove it.  "Right now I'm pound for pound the best." said Mosley.  Mosley would also call out Felix Trinidad another fighter who claims to be pound for pound the best.  Mosley said he would move up in weight to fight Trinidad but that if Trinidad was planning on moving up to 160-165 pounds then good for him.

It was not long ago when writers were chastising Mosley for making a bold move and jumping up two weight classes from 135lbs. to the 147lb welterweight division.  He's too small, they hit harder were just some of the reactions you read from the press.  Now you find the Mosley "bandwagon" overflowing with participation.    Even writers who call great fighters "Chicken" cannot say a bad thing against Mosley.
