CAMARENA REMAINS UNDEFEATED WHILE STEADMAN CONTINUES TO LOOK IMPRESSSIVE.

Arroyo Entertainment will close-out its summer series of boxing “Outside in the Lot” on Sept. 28.
The main event featured an InsideBoxing.com state championship elimination bout that lived up to all expectations. Aaron Steadman of Las Vegas fought strong against Denver’s Steve Valdez to win a unanimous decision. Valdez pressed the action early in the fight as he landed good punches and had Steadman backing up. Midway through the fight, Steadman took a stance and exchanged power shots with Valdez and appeared to get stronger as the fight went on. Steadman improved his record to 8-3, Valdez dropped to 19-30.
Steadman will now move on to fight the ever-so-dangerous Adrian Mora for InsideBoxing.com’s Colorado State championship on Sept. 28.
Lightweight Donald Camarena, meanwhile, looked like a seasoned pro as he dropped Manuel Corona late in the first round of a scheduled six-round co-main event.
“Usually, we take the first round to feel out the opponent, but today we came out in an aggressive mode. We wanted to gain respect and set the pace of the fight,” said Camarena’s manager and trainer, Aurelio Martinez.
Camarena started the round by establishing his strong jab. he then used superb angles and body movement to keep Corona off balance and unable to set himself to throw punches. When Corona tried to establish any kind of attack, Camarena used his hand speed to set up devastating power punches. Camarena sent Corona to the canvas with a combination that included and overhand right and an uppercut to end the fight.
The action-packed undercard paired Janae Archuleta against Mercedes Mercury in a four-round bout that had the crowd on its feet and earned a standing ovation. Archuleta won by split decision.
Light heavyweight Ayodeji Fadeyi displayed his boxing abilities as he disposed of Fredrick Hatch of Cortez, Colo. with a second-round TKO. Welterweight Tony Morales, making his pro debut, stopped Eloy Lucero in two rounds.
