JUST A BUNCH OF FECES
We have all heard the bickering. We have all seen the finger pointing. And we have all saw and read both sides lay blame on one another. I'm talking about the Roy Jones Jr. and the Dariusz Michalczewski camps. The truth of the matter is both camps are shoveling scoops of faeces into boxing fans faces in hopes the stench will effect our minds into thinking this is a fight we must see.
InsideBoxing emailed both camps with a request to answer a few questions. Question that would shed some light as to where the problem might be between both camps. We asked that they respond by March 30, 2001 giving both side over a week of time.
It looks like we have two camps that are willing to tell the boxing public only what they want to and not what they ask for. All of a sudden when a third party media gets involved both sides clam up.
Square Ring Inc. (Jones Jr. camp) responded the very next day with this answer to our email: "Square Ring is currently trying to have serious negotiations with Michalczewski's representatives to make the fight. At this point, we feel that it is best not to do this publicly. When the negotiations reach some kind of conclusion, we will let you know."
Klaus-Peter Kohl, Universum Box-Promotion elected to ignore InsideBoxing's request.
Boxing fans hold your breath, not because this fight will be made soon but because if you breathe you might get a mouth full of feces.
The questions were as follows:
To the Michalczewski camp. Sent to Klaus-Peter
Kohl, Universum Box-Promotion
It
has been said your offer to Jones to fight Michalczewski in Germany was 2
Million for Jones and 4 Million to Michalczewski.
What was the actual offer?
If
your actual offer to Jones was a lower than the amount Michalczewski would
receive, how do you go about justifying Michalczewski receiving the larger
amount?
What
was the actual offer Jones Jr. submitted to Michalczewski?
When
was the last time both parties spoke with each other and when did
negotiations break down?
Do
you believe Jones Jr. is “ducking” or afraid to fight Michalczewski or
do you believe the problem is solely a money issue?
Shouldn't
Michalczewski be more concerned about getting a shot at the title than the
money?
Would
you be willing to have a third party mediate a compromise?
Or are you set in fighting for a certain figure?
If
Michalczewski were to fight Jones Jr. in the US would he have to be
compensated extra?
If
Michalczewski were to fight Jones Jr. in Germany would he take a reduction
in purse?
What
are mandatory issues (if any) that would incorporate the fight?
(Referee, judges, ring size or ?)
What
makes Michalczewski's people think they can beat Jones and tell us why?

It
has been said the offer you received from Michalczewski’s camp to fight in
Germany was 2 Million for Jones and 4 Million to Michalczewski.
What was the actual offer?
Michalczewski’s
promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl said he received an offer from your camp that was
insulting. What
was the offer and why does your camp feel it is a fair offer?
When
was the last time both parties spoke with each other and when did
negotiations break down?
Do
you believe Michalczewski is just looking for a big payday because this
fight will show he is not in your league as a fighter?
Should
Michalczewski be more concerned about getting a shot at the title than the
money?
Would
you be willing to have a third party mediate a compromise?
Or are you set in fighting for a certain figure?
If

extra?
Would
you consider fighting Michalczewski in Germany and why?
What

Will
Michalczewski be one of your toughest fights?
