(IB – July 23, 2004) – You will want to mark Friday July 30th on your calendars. That is the night that “Iron” Mike Tyson (50-4-2 NCs, 44 KOs) will return to the ring to face British challenger & current WBU (World Boxing Union) International champion Danny Williams (31-3, 26 KOs) in Louisville, Kentucky. This event is being presented by Straight Out Promotions and distributed by Showtime Pay Per View starting at 9:00 PM EST. This also happens to be the night that Mike Tyson turns the ripe age of thirty-eight years old.

So when you think of a birthday bash, you think of a big party! In this case, this fight could very well turn out to be a big bash of a different sort. For example; Mike Tyson, who has vowed that has re-dedicated himself and is in excellent shape, may just BASH up Danny Williams’ face and knock him out, then go have a big party!

After all, Tyson stated at the press conference in Louisville that, “I really enjoy the sound of the gloves hitting the head and my opponent hitting the mat.” If this is any sign of what is to come next Friday night, we may all get to hear the sound of Williams hitting the mat.

While it would not be appropriate to take anything away from Danny Williams, one would want to logically think the outcome of this fight is not up to Danny Williams. It will be up to Mike Tyson to decide how competitive this fight will become. If Mike has prepared himself as he claims, and enters the ring at anything less than 230lbs, you have to believe that Mr. Williams is in SERIOUS trouble. I do not see any names on the fight resume for Williams that would have adequately prepared him for the man he will face in Tyson. However, they do share one common opponent in their respective careers. Julius Francis, former British Heavyweight Title holder. Tyson Ko’ed Francis, at 1:03 of the 2nd round back in Jan of 2000 and Williams has a 1-1 record against Francis. In April of 1999, Williams lost a decision to Francis in a 12 round bout and avenged the defeat with a 4th round TKO over Francis in July of 2001.

Danny Williams has already stated, “Be ready for a fight Mike”. Let’s hope Danny can stand behind those comments and we will all be treated to a wonderful night of excitement for however long it shall last! I definitely predict somebody will get knocked out in this fight. So don’t miss it…
