KLITSCHKO HAS PUT THE WORLD ON NOTICE
By Ron Brashear

( IB-7/08/2007) – IBF & IBO Heavyweight Boxing Champion Wladimir “The Steelhammer” Klitschko (49-3, 44 KOs) has definitely put the world on notice that it is he, who is the messenger IN and OUT of the ring for what is good about boxing.

First, let’s take a look INSIDE the ring.

In Cologne, Germany in front of 20 + thousand fans and viewed around the world on HBO, Klitschko avenged the defeat (from the last fighter that was victorious over him-Lamon Brewster), in a dominating performance! Klitschko put the world on notice that he, without a doubt, has the best jab in the heavyweight division today! It is such as punishing and controlling jab that it has become pretty obvious that any of today’s heavyweights will have major problems with trying to get past it to even be able to strike Klitschko. It was so effective against Brewster that it sent a clear message to Brewster’s trainer, Buddy McGirt that you can either stop your fighter from continuing to take these jabs, or it’s only going to get worse if we continue. After six consecutive rounds of witnessing this brutal jab connecting to Brewster’s face with a great deal of force and accuracy, McGirt advised the referee to stop the fight. I commend Buddy’s decision for looking out for Brewster’s best interest and future. It was only going to get worse, much worse and a strong likelihood that Brewster was going to be KOed soon.

It would be great if the promoters and the powers that be could now treat the boxing world and fans to Klitschko’s quest to see if he can become the unified Heavyweight Champion of the world. It would seem to be as simple as forcing the winner of the WBA/WBO unification bout between Sultan Ibragimov (WBO champ) and Ruslan Chagaev (WBA Champ) take on Klitschko by spring 08, since they don’t fight each other until October 07. By the way, if Klitschko needs a “keep busy” fight in the meantime, let’s treat the fans to Holyfield vs. Klitschko bout. Why not? Evander says he wants to be undisputed Heavyweight Champion again. In order to do this with legitimacy, you must defeat Wladimir Klitschko – I’m sure the boxing world would pay to see this fight!

I would expect Klitschko to prevail in any of the matches listed above and then all that’s left for him to capture is the remaining WBC belt by fighting the winner of another October 07 heavyweight title fight between Oleg Maskaev (WBC champ) and challenger Samuel Peter. All of these bouts could be effectively scheduled by EOY (End of Year) 2008 if it were a shared vision and goal of all parties. Wladimir took a huge step forward with the Brewster rematch and he put the world on notice that he feels he is the supreme champion of the heavyweight division! Let’s give him the opportunity to prove it.

Let’s take a look OUTSIDE the ring.

I encourage you to take approximately 5 minutes of your time to check out how Wladimir Klitschko is also putting the world on notice about how influential his words are for inspiring youth around the world. If you would like to view the video, please visit www.youthofhonor.org and click on the YOHCAST icon on the left side of the screen and then select the Klitschko video. We can not say thank you enough to Dr.Wladimir Klitschko for being such a fine representative for the sport of boxing and for humanity in and outside the ring.
