Laila Ali (18-0 15 KO's), who is the current Super Middleweight Champion, and the 1st Lady of Women’s boxing, will move up to light heavyweight division and challenge the newly crowned WIBA Light Heavyweight champ Gwendolyn O'Neil on Friday September 24th at Phillips Arena in Atlanta Georgia. This bout is being brought to you by Absoloot Entertainment.
Since this bout “will not” be televised, it becomes a must see event to check it out live if you are in the Atlanta area this weekend. The vacant IWBF Light Heavyweight World title will be on the line and both ladies are confident that they will prevail and are ready to back up their talk with their fists.
I stopped by this afternoon to observe Laila Ali’s workout and she is fired up and ready go. “I am in great shape and ready to give Gwendolyn a true Beat-down for the Atlanta fans!”
Laila has stated that she is looking forward to a competitive fight and that she is up for the challenge. Gwendolyn feels that Laila has been ducking her and is afraid to fight her. Well, obviously not – the fight is on and Friday night will determine which one of these ladies will leave the arena as the WIBA Light Heavyweight Champion.
Note - There will be both male and female fights on the under card. And in a special attraction making his comeback is former Light Heavyweight Champion of the World, William "Chocolate" Guthrie.
