LAS VEGAS, Nev. (InsideBoxing.com May 15, 2004) - All I can
say is unbelievable! In front of a capacity crowd of eagerly charged-up
fans,
Antonio "Magic Man" Tarver made Roy "Superman" Jones disappear from the top of
the light heavyweight division with a SINGLE left hook that landed flush on
Jones' chin. What a perfect punch!!! It was delivered midway through the 2nd
round. While Jones somehow managed to make it to his feet before the count of
ten, he was in no way, able to continue and referee Jay Nady called a halt to
the bout at 1:41 of the 2nd round.
So Tarver is once again, the king of the light heavyweight division and the
undisputed champion.
I am thoroughly impressed and amazed by what I just witnessed. This is totally
the opposite of what I expected to see. Based on the reaction of the crowd, I'm
sure I'm not alone.
This KO of Jones was so devastating, I'm left unsure how to even write about
this event. What is there to say? WOW!
Congratulations Antonio Tarver! You believed & you achieved what many felt was
unachievable. For that alone, you deserve, at a minimum, to have the adjective
GREAT associated with the name Antonio Tarver.
