BEATDOWN II – POST FIGHT CONFERENCE – WAR OF WORDS BETWEEN ALI & ROBINSON

ATLANTA, GA (IB – February 11, 2005) – At the post fight conference, following victories by both, Ali (20-0, 17 KOs) over Casandra “Black Diamond” Geiggar (6-5, 6 KOs), and Leatitia “Baby Girl” Robinson (13-0, 9 KOs) vs. Monica Nunez (9-3, 5 KOs), the war of words has began between these two champions.

While Laila was on the podium fielding press questions regarding whether “Baby Girl” would be the next opponent, Robinson decided she would invoke herself into the questioning as well.

Leatitia: “So let me ask you, will you and I be fighting next? I ready whenever you are ready.”  More

BEST FEMALE FIGHTER - LAILA ALI OR ANN WOLFE? – EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH CASANDRA GEIGGAR

ATLANTA, GA (IB – February 11, 2005) – If I had to quantify the percentages of votes amongst boxing fans, I would offer the following. I would guess that about 90% of boxing fans believe that Laila Ali (20-0, 17 KOs) is the best female boxer in the world. I would also guess that about 10% of the boxing fans believe that Ann Wolfe (18-1, 12 KOs) is the best female fighter in the world.

What better way to gain insight into this question than to go to someone that should know the answer. Casandra Geiggar (6-5. 6 KOs) happens to be the last woman on this planet, who has fought Ann Wolfe and Laila Ali back-to-back. Here is what Casandra had to say when I did this exclusive post fight interview with her: More

ALI STOPS GEIGGAR IN 8TH ROUND

ATLANTA, GA (IB – February 11, 2005) – In front of a charged up and enthusiastic Atlanta crowd, along with being televised to millions across this country on ESPN2, Laila “She Bee Stingin” Ali (20-0, 17 KOs) successfully defended her WIBA Super Middleweight Title against Cassandra “Black Diamond” Geiggar (6-5, 6 KOs) at Philips Arena in Atlanta Georgia.

Utilizing superb combination punching, Laila was able to cause significant swelling over the left eye of Cassandra in the 3rd round, and went on to decisively win every round, and at 1:13 of the 8th round, referee George Chip called a halt to the action per he felt Casandra had taken enough punishment. However, when I interviewed Casandra after the fight, that’s not how she felt. “I am very frustrated that they stopped this fight, we were both getting tired and I wasn’t hurt and wanted to continue.” While Laila was dominating this fight, I must give Casandra her props for her toughness. Casandra went down at 1:09 into the 8th round and was determined and got up and wanted to go the distance. There was a lot of bravery shown by Casandra Geiggar. More
