Ricardo Mayorga vs. Vernon Forrest

MAYORGA WINS BY MAJORITY DECISION

Scores 114-114 Roth, 115-114 O'Connell, 116-112 Oveson

Awaiting the desicion...

RD 12 Mayorga is the fighter that comes out fighting like he needs a knock out to win.  Takes it hard to Forrest and wins the round without a doubt.  Mayorga was in excellent shape, Mayorga should win this fight but we will wait for the judges scorecards.  Forrest's plan of taking this fight the distance backfired.

RD 11 Mayorga grabs a second win and makes the round difficult to score but Forrest, now is the one tiring.  Forrest needs the final round to have a chance at winning this fight

RD 10 Mayorga lands a flurry of power shots backing up Forrest for the better part of the round.  Forrest may very well need to win the last 2 rounds to win this fight.

RD 9 Fight evens out, a pretty even round.  Forrest threw the more affective punches while Mayorga lands his looping shots

RD 8 Forrest wins round as he takes advantage of Mayorga's slowing down.  Forrest starting to set and punch much better

RD 7 Forrest does a good job of moving and staying away from the power blows of Mayorga.  Mayorga seems to have slowed down a bit.  May be tiring

RD 6 Mayorga again overwhelms Forrest. Forrest's left eye starting to swell.  The key now is can Mayorga continue throwing power punches and not tire.

RD 5 Forrest's best round so far, landed good body shots

RD 4 Forrest finally connects good blows, Mayorga drops his hands and invites Forrest's punches, Forrest hits Mayorga and Mayorga retaliates

RD 3 Mayorga takes control landing and scoring, Forrest looks confused

RD 2 Mayorga lands solid shots hurting  Forrest.  Mayorga takes command as Forrest tries hold and falls to the ground several times in attempts to hold

RD 1 Forrest moves and boxes sticks to his game plan

DeMarcus Corley vs. Zab Judah

Zab Judah wins by Split decision

Awaiting the official Results...

RD 12 More of the same from Judah, Should have a new champion.

RD 11 Judah comes back to win the round.  Looks more and more like Corley will need a knock out to win this fight.  Corley does not seem to have the power to hurt Judah.

RD 10 Corley lands the better blows good round for Corley.  Corley may have won 3 rounds up to this point.  Rounds 1,6 and 10

RDs 5 thru 9 all pretty much the same, Judah moving selecting his punches with Corley landing occasionally.  Crowd starts to boo fighters

RD 4 Judah now taking control with his movement and superior skills.  Starts to show boat.

RD 3 Judah boxing more effectively taking Corley out of his game plan.  Judah knocks Corley down late in the round.

RD 2  Corley works the body effectively while Judah seems content to stay against the ropes

RD 1 Pretty even round both fighters have their moments.

WBA Super Lightweight Chamionship

"Vicious" Vivian Harris 22-1-1, 16KOS vs Souleymane "The Sensation M'Baye 27-0, 18KOs

The Official outcome is Vivian Harris wins a unanimous decision.  117-110, 116-111, 116-111, which drew a LOUD roar of BOOs per plenty observers saw this fight as being much closer. I definitely saw it as a DRAW...

Awaiting official decision...

RD 12  I thought Harris did enough to pull out this round.  I scored it 114-114

RD11 Another good round of exchanges. I scored this round for Harris. I have it scored 105-104 going into the 12th round in favor of M'baye

RD10  Good Exchange of punches in this round with the edge going to Harris.
96-94 going into the 11th.
Great fight!

RD9  While Harris attempts to keep his range outside, M'Baye appears too strong and manages to keep the fight at close quarters. Another round for M'Baye
87-84 = M'Baye

RD 8  Tough round to score, but I had to give the edge to M'Baye again.
77-75 in favor of M'Bayne at this point.

RD 7 This round was ALL M'Baye with his dominating overhand Rights. At the end of the round, M'Baye buckled the knees of Harris. 67-66 M'Baye

RD 6 Harris landed strong left hooks to the body per even round. I gave the edge to Harris. 57-57 after six rounds.

Rd 5 More of M'Baye landing the harder punches and better combinations.

48-47 in favor of M'Baye after 5rds.

4TH RD Inside fighting with M'Baye landing the more effective punches. 38-38 - even after 4 rounds.

RD 3 was also a tactical rd but a case could be made for M'Baye, who landed a couple of overhand rights.  29-28 going into round 4.

RD2 - Started out the same then a good exchange took place and I gave Harris RD2 as well.  My unofficial scorecard is 20-18 in favor of Harris.

RD 1 - Was a filling out round by both fighters with a low punch output.
Gave Harris round 1 for being the busier fighter of the two.

Sweet Pete Frissina improved his record to 27-3-1, 15 KOs with a 12RD split decison win over Jesus Perez 23-3-2, 13 KOs, which was a very entertaining bout where bout fighters had their moments. The fans booed when announced split decision per it seemed obvisious that Frissina won the fight.

Judge Adalaide Byrd scored it 116-109, and Judge Dalby Shirley also had it 116-109 for Frissina while Judge Rob ert Hoyle scored the fight 113-112 for Perez.

Syd Vanderpool 33-2, 23 KOS scored a 9th RD TKO when Demitrius Jenkins 21-11-1, 16KOs quit at the end of the 9th rd.  Vanderpool dominated practically every round and was winning by a landside on all three judges scorecards.
