JOSE HERNANDEZ AND MIKE GONZALEZ FIGHT THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AT

May 17, 2006 - Chicago featherweight prospect Jose Hernandez will make his
return to the ring this Saturday night, May 20th, at the Aragon Ballroom, it was
announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE
BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING.
Hernandez, 19-3 (13) will square off against tough veteran Anthony Martinez,
20-20-3 of Nicaragua in an eight round box which headlines “ROCK AND BOX” a
benefit for Cystic Fibrosis, featuring the finest in Chicagoland’s professional
and amateur boxing along with a concert by the legendary Dave Mason and his
band.
The Aragon Ballroom is located at 1106 W. Lawrence Avenue on the north side of
Chicago. Doors for this event will open at 4pm, with the first bell scheduled
for 4:30pm. Tickets priced at $50 are available in advance by calling

Said Pesoli, “Jose’s last bout this past January against Antonio Escalante was a
“Fight of the Year” candidate and our fans are thrilled that he’s back in
action. Jose’s been training hard at JABB and really wants to put on a great
show.”
Also on the professional portion of the show, undefeated lightweight KO artist
Mike Gonzalez, 6-0 (6) will battle Mexican Gonzalo Bonilla, 6-7 (5) in a six
round bout.
“Mike has done fantastic since turning pro, he’s an all action fighter and our
fans definitely enjoy seeing him fight,” said Pesoli about the Puerto Rican
native.
Rounding out the professional portion of the card is a six round middleweight
bout between Kendall Gould of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Rohan “The Beast” Nanton
of Brooklyn, New York.
The amateur portion of the event will feature the final amateur bout of Notre
Dame football star Tommy Zbikowski. The 21 year old heavyweight who has fought
in over 80 amateur bouts will make his pro debut at Madison Square Garden on
June 10th.
