February 26, 2005 - Adrian 'Superfly' Helms (20-0-1) takes on former WBO challenger John Long (19-6-2) for the NABC 175 lb United States title. Former Olympic Team Alternate, James 'Spider' Webb (16-0) defends his NABC 147 lb United States belt. Undefeated Jeff 'Boom Boom' Baker (9-0) challenges for the NABC Great Lakes Cruiserweight title. Also on the card is NABC women's champ Kristy 'Rose' Follmar in a non-title bout.

Whiting Boxing Club

December 25, 2004 - The Whiting Boxing club along with three other organizations has been suspended because of recent thefts that have taken place at the Whiting City Hall, and although the perpetrators have not been identified or apprehended, the members of the Whiting Boxing Club will have to suffer the consequences.

The Whiting Boxing Club, under the tutelage of Dennis Hardesty has placed the city of Whiting, on the map in more ways than one. Mr. Hardesty has not only made champions that have gone down in the books as among the best but also created a haven for otherwise misdirected teens for almost 30 years. The Kids, male or female, on more than one occasion found themselves
and a sense of what they wanted out of life through the club and the advice of Mr. Hardesty. More

Raul Frank Grabs IBF Latino 154 pound Crown

(May 24, 2004) - In a hard fought 12 round battle for the new IBF Latino title, Raul Frank of Guyana outboxed hard punching and argressive Mohamed Said of Brazil to win the IBF LAtino crown. Said out punched Frank early but not enough to win. Frank kept up pressure throughout and had the Jordanian born Said bruised and swollen around both eyes at the end. All thre judges, Nathan Palmer, Victor Kakone, and Blake Allen saw it 117-111.

In other action; Rydell Booker 230, of Detroit stopped Kenny Murphy 220 of Chicago at the end of three. James Morrow, 166, the former "Hoosier Brawl" champ, outpointed fellow Lafayette resident Robert Smart 160, in 4. Former Olympic alternate and wo time national Golden Glove champ, Darnell Wilson of Lafayette stopped Elvin Versey of Milwaukee in two. Adrain Helms, 175, Indianapolis win 4 over Shawn Crowdus of Louisville. Canadien Mike Post stopped Robert Robinson of Muncie in one. Brazier Rumbles to Ten Round Victory

Hobart, IN-- South Bend welterweight Harold Brazier returned from a six year layoff to pound out a unanimous ten round decision over Canadian welterweight champion Brooke Wellby at the Omega Sports Complex here tonight.

Brazier, 105 -16-1, 64 KOs, was held even through six tough rounds by the youngster Wellby, 30-12-3, 11 KOs, but began too take control in the seventh round of a hard fought contest.

"I really was a little over confident tonight," said Brazier. "I felt so good training that I expected to take him out, but he was tough as nails."

Newly Crowned Canadian Champ Says Brazier Fight a Go!

Hobart, IN (November 27, 2003) -- Brooke Wellby, fresh off his upset victory over Rico Tann, the new Canadian Welterweight Champion says reports that he is out of his bout with former world contender Harold Brazier are premature.

Indianapolis, IN (December 3, 2002) -- Junior middleweight Anthony Shuler of Indianapolis survived a late rally to score a last round technical knockout over South Bend's Victorio Belcher to win the Indiana Boxing Association championship here tonight.

Shuler was too fast from the opening bell and took a commanding lead after six rounds, but the gritty Belcher rallied in the seventh to take the round. The eighth saw Shuler turn things his way again and he was able to drop Belcher and the referee called a halt to the bout. More
