Kentucky Governor Replaces State Boxing Commission

January 8, 2005 - Newly elected Kentucky governor, Ernie Fletcher has dissolved what was the Kentucky State Boxing Commission. He has replaced it with what he calls the Kentucky Sports Authority which will be chaired by his new Lt. Governor, and staffed by many prominent people.

Appointed to the new authority is Dr. George Ginter, a practicing anesthesiologist. More importantly, Dr. Ginter may be perhaps the most qualified person in the world to serve on a boxing commission or board. Most appointments are made as political favors, loading up commissions with idiots, dreamers, promoter wannabe’s, matchmaker wannabe’s, and generally people who have no business being in those positions. WORLD CHAMPION DANIEL SANTOS TO DEFEND WBO JR. MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE ON FEBRUARY 27 IN LOUISVILLE, KY.

December 23, 2003 - Promoter Chris A. Webb/Straight Out Promotions will present a sensational world championship fight card on February 27, 2004, in Louisville, Kentucky.

In the 12-round main event, WBO jr. middleweight world champion Daniel Santos, 27-2-1, 1 No Contest, with 20 knockouts, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, will defend the title against an opponent to be announced. Daniel has held the title since March, 2002, and made two successful title defenses. He is undefeated in his last seven fights - 6-0, 1 NC - dating back 3 ˝ years. More
