EDGAR "EL CHAMACO" SANTANA HEADLINES DIBELLA ENTERTAINMENT'S
NOVEMBER 15TH INSTALLMENT OF BROADWAY BOXING PRESENTED BY STUBHUB AT THE GRAND
BALLROOM AT MANHATTAN CENTER
REMATCH OF STEVENS VS. PRIMERA IN CO-FEATURE
New York, October 26—Spanish Harlem star Edgar "El Chamaco" Santana (19-2, 12
KO's) will take center stage in the main event on Wednesday night, November
15th, when DiBella Entertainment's Broadway Boxing Presented by StubHub returns
to the Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Center in New York City.
The highly anticipated co-feature will pit Brownsville's Curtis "Showtime"
Stevens (13-1, 11 KO's) in a rematch against Marcos Primera (20-15-2, 13 KO's)
in an eight round super middleweight bout. Primera handed Dash-DiBella
Promotion's Stevens' his only career setback in a controversial eighth round
stoppage on July 20th.
A native of Manati, Puerto Rico, now fighting out of Spanish Harlem, Santana has
become an exciting fixture on the New York circuit over the past two years. "El
Chamaco" has reeled off 10 straight Broadway Boxing victories, all in impressive
fashion, en route to 14 consecutive wins overall. Santana continued his winning
streak on the September 20th Broadway Boxing Presented by StubHub card, downing
a tough-minded Vladimir Khodokovski in a unanimous 10 round decision.
The evening also will be highlighted by another appearance by Dash-DiBella
Promotion's super middleweight Jaidon Codrington (12-1, 10 KO's), regarded as
one of the top super middleweight prospects in the game. "The Don" has reeled
off three straight victories and is ready to keep the streak alive when he faces
Johnny Brooks (5-4-1, 3 KO's) of South Carolina.
Noriko Kariya (5-1-1, 1 KO), the fighting sister of NHL superstar Paul Kariya,
will see action as she takes on Elisha Olivas (5-4-1, 3 KO's) in a six round
bantamweight bout. The undercard also features Jamelle Hamilton (2-0, 2 KO's) of
Brooklyn and Cleveland standouts Prenice Brewer (1-0-1, 1 KO) and Willie Nelson
(1-0, 1 KO).
The excitement of Broadway Boxing's fights and the electricity of the crowds at
the Manhattan Center have drawn the likes of celebrities and athletes such as
Jay Z., Hilary Swank, Rosario Dawson, Fat Joe, Camron, Wladimir Klitschko,
Lennox Lewis, Jermain Taylor, Ike Quartey, Ricky Hatton, Tiki Barber, Tracy
McGrady, and Jim Courier to name a few.
Tickets are priced at $150, $100, $80, $60, and $40 for standing room only.
