O’Malley loses NABA Title Fight “Villalta sharp in win”

(July 20, 2003) - Edmonds, WA boxing sensation Martin O’Malley suffered his second defeat of his career Saturday night at the Emerald Queen Casino’s Battle at the Boat boxing series. At stake was the NABA Middleweight title and a world ranking by the WBA.

O’Malley never seemed to get started and being the class act that O’Malley is, he stated, “I am embarrassed by my performance, I have no one to blame but myself.”

“Villalta looked sharp”, said promoter Brian Halquist, “I believe Martin is still one of the top lightweights in the world. Martin needs to be more active and we hope to get that done.”
