DENVER (IB – August 21, 2006) – As boxing fans and enthusiasts, it’s very easy to get motivated in anticipation of witnessing a Knock Out inside the boxing ring. Well, I am equally excited to announce that Insideboxing’s own, Ron Brashear, is going for the Knock Out outside the ring.

Get a load of the opponent that he will be taking on:

PRISON STATISTICS

On June 30, 2005 --
-- 2,186,230 prisoners were held in Federal or State prisons or in local jails -- an increase of 2.6% from midyear 2004, less than the average annual growth of 3.4% since yearend 1995.
-- there were an estimated 488 prison inmates per 100,000 U.S. residents -- up from 411 at yearend 1995.
-- the number of women under the jurisdiction of State or Federal prison authorities increased 3.4% from midyear 2004, reaching 106,174 and the number of men rose 1.3%, totaling 1,406,649.
At yearend 2004 there were 3,218 black male sentenced prison inmates per 100,000 black males in the United States, compared to 1,220 Hispanic male inmates per 100,000 Hispanic males and 463 white male inmates per 100,000 white males.

In order for Mr. Brashear to take on this type of challenge he is going to need endurance and he will need to throw some serious combinations to get the victory. Here is his fight-plan.

Through the telling of his very personal and troubled youth, Mr. Brashear takes the courageous step to divulge all to assist others realize that it is never too late to take a personal “you turn”.

So on August 21, 2006, Youth of Honor, in partnership with e-Luminated Manuscripts, is proud to announce the release of “Bouncing Back… Living life the right way” by H. Ron Brashear.

With at least 95% of all State prisoners being released back into the community after serving time in prison, ‘Bouncing Back… Living life the right way’ is needed as an educational tool as well as personal roadmap to assist these inmates in changing their ways and pursue a better path toward living life the right way. It is not only the belief of H. Ron Brashear that the lives of past offenders can be changed but that they themselves can and must serve as role models for our youth so the cycle does not continue with our youth. If you know someone that is incarcerated, soon to be released or on the darker side of the road to life, ‘Bouncing Back… Living life the right way’ could be the message they need to hear. It is never too late to learn from our mistakes and youth are never too young to be taught right from wrong.

So I am asking the boxing community to join me in supporting Mr. Brashear’s endeavor to make a difference and KO these statistics by getting the word out and by selecting one of the purchasing options at www.youthofhonor.org

In closing, if Mr. Brashear approaches this task with the same level of tenacity that made his late Uncle, Mr. Carl M. Brashear a hero, I believe this campaign will be very successful and impact thousands of lives. The entire Insideboxing family was saddened to hear of the passing of Ron’s Uncle Carl last month. This is a good step toward carrying on a legacy of good work.

Kind Regards
